On behalf of the RSMR team I would very much like to welcome you to our 6th annual London Investment Conference.
This year we have chosen to concentrate on the core issues that affect us as investment managers and financial planners, including a focus on multi-asset and income investing. Fortunately there have been no major issues to cause the dramatic market movements we have seen in recent years such as the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Events such as these are still affecting our thinking, however, and providing some of the reasons why the global economy is in its current position.
The mood of markets seems to be more positive with inflation seemingly under control and the anticipation that the next move for interest rates will be downwards. We hope that you'll enjoy and benefit from the discussion and debate of these issues and many more in the presentations and panel debates today.

Our moderator for the day is Dominic O'Connell. Dominic is the business presenter of the Radio 4 Today Programme. He was formerly Business Editor of The Sunday Times, since 2010, and joined the paper in 2001. Before that, he was part of the launch team of Sunday Business. Under his editorship, the paper broke a series of big business stories including the news of BHS's pending administration, and previously the Pfizer bid for Astra Zeneca, the largest ever attempted takeover of a British company. As well as his role on the Today Programme, Dominic also appears regularly on Business Live on BBC World News and the News Channel, on World Service Radio business output, and contributes to the online business pages.
