Welcome to the 10th
RSMR Conference
and R Awards 2023

On behalf of the RSMR team I would very much like to welcome you to our Annual Harrogate Investment Conference.

Another year has flown by, but the same themes have tended to dominate our thinking throughout 2023 so far. When we discussed the global economy a year ago, we were worried about inflation and interest rates as well as continuing geopolitical tensions. Twelve months on, the picture is much the same but with more positive returns coming from a range of asset classes. That said, optimism seems to be in short supply with investors accepting the higher for longer mantra from central banks on interest rates and the possibility of recession still on the agenda, be that a soft or hard landing.

While uncertainty over the global economy continues, we must get on with our day jobs, and we are no different at RSMR. We have continued to improve the quality of our research by further developing our proprietary analysis tools while also adding another experienced member to the research team. We have improved our website navigation and added more information to help advisers in their search for funds. Regulation has also been a focus this year with the introduction of Consumer Duty, which we have fully embraced, providing support for advisers using our MPS services.

This year, we will once again provide you with the opportunity to hear from 21 of the leading investment management groups who will, through presentations and panels, provide challenge and insight into the issues facing us as investors today. This evening, we are hosting the R Awards, giving recognition to the leading fund groups in their respective sectors.

We have been supporting and helping advisers in the provision of advice to their clients through reliable investment research and analysis since 2004 and we know that advisers derive a great amount of value from the discussions, debates and networking opportunities provided by this event. Thank you for joining us today and for your support over recent years, we look forward to working with you for many more to come.

We are supporting Rewilding Britain

Rewilding is about hope. We've reached the point where the breakdown of our climate and the biodiversity crisis are urgent threats to both nature and human society. Rewilding - the large-scale restoration of ecosystems to the point where nature can take care of itself - represents a powerful solution.
